Preussichers Cigarren Collegium
Recently while in Berlin I stopped in at Preussichers Cigarren Collegium in Berlin. This lounge is on the first floor of the Steigenberger Hotel, at Los Angeles Platz 1. It is a small room, with a helpful attendant offering cigars that can be smoked on premise, and a very nice assortment (though limited in variety) of cigar-appropriate drinks. The assortment of smokes is strongly focused on Cubans, which you may recognize is the norm throughout Europe.
The Cigarren Collegium is a quiet place. The few times I’ve dropped in here, you’re either alone or there are one or two other patrons, who are also alone. It’s a place where you can be by yourself with your own thoughts.
Not far away from that location is the Times Bar in the Savoy Hotel Berlin (Fasanenstrasse 9). Unlike the Collegium, this place is usually packed in the evenings. Nice comfortable chairs and a fully staffed bar. The humidor is Cuban, and a sufficient variety of household names and a few unique varieties. The staff, also very friendly, helpful and attentive.
Both of these places are near the Zoo, and easily walkable.
