“If business is going well, and the information explosion and the ‘Internet of Things’ continues (as we expect it to until Armageddon or the zombie apocalypse), then there will be more data processing than there is today.”
I routinely speak at industry forums. In recent years, I’ve presented quite a bit about data center energy efficiency, data center risk management, and general data center business topics. My audience is typically enterprise IT leaders, data center operations staff, and VC analysts.
The industry training courses that I teach cover most of the design and operations areas of the data center including general design practices, power, cooling, critical operations, and energy efficiency. I also teach the Data Center Energy Practitioner certification courses, from the US Department of Energy.
I’ve also developed custom courses for specific areas of focus within the data center context, for business clients. At the University, I am an adjunct instructor for Information Systems Security courses, within the Computer Science department.
I write regularly, either on requested topics or on topics that I find interesting and feel are important to the community. I’ve produced white papers for businesses, journal articles for technical publications, technical educational material, and blog posts. Increasingly, I’m making videos to explain technical subjects or for delivery of specific training to those in the data center industry, including Sales personnel.
